1. Intelligent Assistance through AI
A key highlight of this release is the integrated AI assistant, which significantly simplifies working with templates and data structures. It supports the creation, analysis, and optimization of:
- DFF templates (Data Format Files)
- Data Dictionaries
- DTT templates (Document Tagging Templates)
This greatly reduces manual effort, particularly when setting up new projects or maintaining complex structures. The AI helps to prevent errors at an early stage and ensures a significant increase in efficiency.
2. Improvements and New Features in DocBridge® Accessibility Designer
DocBridge® Accessibility Designer has been specifically enhanced to meet accessibility requirements even more reliably and conveniently. Key improvements include:
- Multi-page tables can now be dynamically tagged using defined start and end terms – across pages and without manual intervention.
- Each rule can now be assigned an individual page range configuration, increasing flexibility during tagging.
- Thanks to optimized preprocessing for multi-page rules, tagging now works reliably even when the first rule spans several pages. At the same time, tagging of individual pages is improved by considering information from previous pages.
- An extended text rule allows the detection of text areas before or after specific phrases and accounts for recurring terms.
- Form fields can now be provided with alternative descriptions – for better understanding by screen readers.
- The rule for graphical elements now also supports vector graphics.
- Various stability and validation improvements ensure that PDF/UA-compliant documents are generated reliably – including improved image descriptions, corrections to table rules, and better handling of complex layout structures.
These enhancements make it significantly easier to create accessible documents – with reduced manual effort and improved rule accuracy.
3. Greater Convenience in Template Design and Resource Usage
Numerous enhancements have been implemented in the Composition area to ensure smoother workflows:
- A new search function for fields simplifies navigation within complex data structures.
- Resources can now be used more intuitively: display of name and version when using IDs, direct selection and editing via Ctrl+Click, and tooltips showing path, version, and name.
- Content can now be copied more easily between templates – offering improved reusability.
- The synchronization of image descriptions between HTML and accessible output ensures consistent documents.
4. Improved Workflows and Resource Management
At the Communication Workflow level, the release introduces new features that enhance transparency and control:
- A new log window in the Worklet Editor improves visibility into process flows and error analysis.
- Deprecated worklets are now visually marked.
- PDF/UA documents can now also be generated using Impress and PDF Writer worklets without scripting.
- Support for dynamic authentication sources when executing workflows.
In the area of resource management, versioning and dependency handling have been significantly enhanced:
- The new Resource Picker offers targeted selection, preview, and search functions for specific resources and versions.
- A graphical representation of dependencies helps users understand complex structures.
- When changes occur – such as moving, copying, or renaming directories – the system automatically displays a list of potential validation issues, enabling early detection and prevention of conflicts.
- Open tabs are now automatically updated after resource changes to ensure consistency during editing..
The result: Improved clarity and control in maintaining and using resources.
5. Communication Management: More Options for Interactive Customer Processes
Interactive communication also benefits from the update. Guided Interactive enables the digital and user-driven handling of business-critical interactions – such as form completion, application processing, or transaction data entry. This area has been significantly expanded in the current release:
- Interactive templates can now be tested directly in the Guided Interactive Workspace – with live preview and realistic user guidance. This accelerates development and simplifies quality assurance.
- Integration into existing business applications has been revised and simplified. Companies can now seamlessly embed interactive processes into their portals and systems – without media disruptions or additional effort.
- Additional input components are now available, such as multiline text fields or label elements – allowing input forms to be designed in an even more customized and user-friendly way.
- Transaction-related metadata can now also be displayed in the user interface. This allows for the embedding of context-relevant information – such as case numbers, timestamps, or customer references – directly into the editing process.
