Fall Release (1.4)

AI-Powered Efficiency, Business-Driven Design and Integrated Processes

The latest release of the DocBridge® Communication Suite represents a decisive step toward a new generation of Customer Communication Management. This release is shaped by three strategic focus areas:

  • AI-supported Template Migration – increasing efficiency and usability
  • Business-User-Oriented Template Design – enabling safe and efficient collaboration between design and content teams
  • Integrated Business Flows – treating communication as an end-to-end business process

Together, these pillars are supported by extensive enhancements in accessibility, workflows, and resource management.

Key innovations and their benefits at a glance:

1. AI-powered Template Migration

Artificial Intelligence is the first strategic pillar of this release, addressing one of the biggest challenges in CCM modernization: migrating large template libraries. With AI-supported template migration, organizations can convert existing PDF documents into editable communication templates with minimal effort. Users simply upload their documents, and the AI Assistant analyzes layout, structure, and content, reliably distinguishing between static elements and variable data.

Template creation from PDFs or images is now significantly more efficient, as multiple pages can be processed in a single operation. At the same time, transparency and control over AI-driven processes have been enhanced. Running requests display elapsed processing time, pending requests can be cancelled at any time, and usability improvements such as direct text copying via button or keyboard shortcut ensure a smooth, intuitive user experience.

2. Design Meets Content: Business-User-Oriented Template Design

The second major focus is the redesigned Composition UI. It introduces themed document templates as the basis for collaboration. Template Designers define structure, layout, branding, and logic, enabling business users to focus solely on content.

Key enhancements include:

  • A new, intuitive UI tailored for non-technical users
  • Examples of communication themes for faster onboarding
  • Advanced logic handling via “Enclose in” and “Remove Enclosure” options
  • Export of DFF previews as HTML files with embedded resources
  • Improved resource handling through version-aware pickers
  • Extended layout and CSS support, including CSS Regions and absolute positioning

3. Integrated Business Flows: Communication as an End-to-End Process

By integrating a Business Flow Engine based on Flowable BPMN, DocBridge Communication Suite unifies business and technical steps into a single, continuous process logic. Communication workflows become dynamic, branched processes rather than isolated technical jobs.

A new Tasks workspace enables transparent task handling across roles. Reviewer groups can access all open tasks, while individual users manage their assigned tasks, including claiming, unclaiming, approving, or rejecting requests. Each action is tracked and reflected in resource metadata, supported by dedicated viewers for reviewing and approving resource bundles.

In addition to the three strategic pillars, the Fall Release 2025 introduces a range of complementary improvements that enhance accessibility, execution reliability, and transparency throughout the DocBridge® Communication Suite.

Additional improvements:

Accessibility Designer: Precision and Standards Compliance

In the Accessibility Designer, AI-assisted tagging becomes more flexible. Users can choose between fixed-position rules for static content and search-string-based rules for dynamic content, allowing accessibility templates to adapt to varying document structures.

Users can now configure the number of table header rows, define fixed row positions for complex layouts, and specify document-level language settings to improve screen reader behavior. Search-based rules have been extended with “Match whole word” and “Case sensitive” options for greater precision.

A dynamic spinner provides feedback during longer processing operations, while numerous fixes ensure reliable tagging, correct spacing, proper link containment, and stable PDF/UA compliance.

Communication Workflows: Robust and Secure Execution
Workflow processing has been strengthened to improve resilience and security. Job failures can now be reported without triggering exceptions or restarting pen workers, improving stability in production environments.

Security has been enhanced by cleaning up process environments and removing configuration variables at runtime. In addition, job output messages are now retained even in failure scenarios, supporting traceability and diagnostics.

Resource Management: Transparency Across Versions
Resource management improvements address scalability and clarity. Content search now spans all versions of a resource, with results clearly indicating where matches occur. The Resource Picker benefits from the same comprehensive search logic.

Resource and version metadata are now clearly separated, decluttering the interface. The version table dynamically adapts to the media type, while additional features such as file size filtering, memory-efficient exports, configurable download paths, XML validation, and dependency analysis further strengthen governance.
