PDF/UA Conversion Template
A PDF/UA conversion template is a document template with the Compart-specific file type DTT (for Document Tagging Template). PDF/UA conversion templates are created with DocBridge Accessibility Designer, an editor of the Compart product Communication Suite. Each template defines tagging rules for elements of a sample PDF document with a standardized structure as well as the reading order of the tagged elements for screen readers. When the conversion template is applied individually or as part of an automated process to PDF/A documents having this structure, the defined elements are recognized, read, a tag is created for each according to the applicable rule and a fully tagged, valid PDF/UA document is created from the data.
