Framework

A software framework is a concrete or conceptual platform where common code with generic functionality can be selectively specialized or overridden by developers or users. Software frameworks may include support programs, compilers, code libraries, tool sets, and application programming interfaces (APIs) that bring together all the different components to enable development of a project or system. The purpose of a software framework is to simplify the development environment, allowing developers to dedicate their efforts to the project requirements, rather than dealing with the framework's mundane, repetitive functions and libraries.
