Centralized Customer Communication Hub: Output Management with Flexible Options for all Media/Devices/Channels

DocBridge® Pilot is a scalable, cross-platform software that manages all the typical operations of output management (post-composition), including transactional mailing, archiving and post-press processing (modification, conversion, bundling / sorting, insert control, barcode application, output, enveloping / franking ). It serves all physical and electronic communication channels and offers various options for monitoring, tracking and tracing (monitoring, reporting, tracking / tracing, measuring).

It provides features for the compilation and output of the documents as they are created, assembled and sent and automatically considers various postage discounts by means of a postage optimization module.

Architecture and Components

DocBridge® Pilot

DocBridge® Pilot decouples content and format. After composition, the documents are first analyzed and all relevant information for further processing is extracted and stored as metadata (eg contents of NOPs and TLEs in AFP data streams) ) or of accompanying data streams (CSV, XML, SQL queries).

Output Management Software Architecture:

While DocBridge® Pilot maps the documents to a central mailing hub, the metadata is stored in a relational database.

To create the desired capabilities, a set of functions can be configured in each job including sorting, merging / separating, converting and bundling documents, enriching with additional information such as DataMatrix, OMR, logos, and advertising messages.

Depending on the configuration, all processing steps can be automated or initiated by the user (administrator, head of output management) as needed to meet SLAs. For example, bundle documents of various origins and formats into one shipment to optimize postage costs, and assemble and optimize shipments according to desired criteria in one job (including pre-sorting / consolidating mass mailings.)

The way in which a document type is to be processed is configured by means of a graphical user interface (GUI).

Due to the omnichannel capability of DocBridge® Pilot, all physical and electronic channels can be controlled automatically (print, web, archive, mobile devices, e-mail / secure mail, etc.)

High Level of Automation and Low Risk of Errors

When thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG brought its output management (OM) back into house in 2015, this meant a fundamental structural change: Instead of a classic printing company, a Group-wide "competence center for print and digital media" was created, thus laying the foundation for the multichannel document processing.

In addition to five-digit postage savings, the Group achieved one thing above all else: establishing itself as a professional service provider for output management.

"The risk of swapping jobs, printing documents incorrectly or sending them incorrectly is close to zero on DocBridge Pilot."

Centralized Printing with Automated Presorting of Mass Mailings

With the establishment of a central pressure center in Kiruna, the Swedish police (Polismyndigheten) creates the basis for transparency and cost reductions in their document processing.

  • 3.7 million shipments with approximately 17 million document pages annually
  • Lower postage costs through automated pre-sorting
  • Control of print jobs in terms of optimal capacity utilization
  • Higher transparency in document processing (which jobs are/were processed in a certain period of time, where there are bottlenecks, were all documents processed with great impact, were there incidents?)
