"That Little Bit of Translation" - Localization, the Requirements Versus the Reality

Abstract
Localization often happens to be just an afterthought in software development. Mostly this is because when people say "localization" they are really only talking about translation, which is considered to be easy. After clarifying what localization really means, this talk will look at some of the aspects of localization, workflows, and available tools.

Dirk Haun started his career at Compart AG as a software developer, responsible for DocBridge Mill development and also contributed to the design of the Docponent architecture. Following a period in quality assurance, he is now responsible for the software build, i.e. building and providing Compart software for the various supported platforms.
