Survey: Potentials of German Output Management Market

Together with partners, among them Compart, the IT magazine InformationWeek, set up a survey about the potentials of output management for medium-sized businesses and major enterprises. In the context of a full-scale survey 600 German enterprises were interviewed by an independent market research bureau.

Background Information

Over the last months the issue output management gained in importance. The issue is mainly cost-driven on the part of the users who want to introduce more flexible printing processes and to outsource print jobs to service providers.

Many manufacturers and providers of software present solutions to improve document and information workflow processes. Their portfolios offer solutions ranging from special products for input management, output management, document archiving to integrated ECM solutions.

Despite of estimated reduction potentials only few information is available about the user needs in connection with output management solutions. Today’s focus in still on major enterprises, appropriate information for medium-sized businesses are hardly not available.

Survey objectives

  • Determination of future significance of output management solutions associated with ECM solutions – Where are solutions complimentary? Where do they compete?
  • Analysis of future output management requirements that go beyond the actual print processing and print distribution workflow
  • Determination of user market potentials
