The E-Postbrief of the Deutsche Post: the Future of Electronic Written Communication

Wolfgang Eckert, Deutsche Post AG

Abstract

The Deutsche Post (provider of postal services) takes the classic letter into the Internet age and thereby supports confidential, binding and reliable electronic written communication. This gives your customer a significant efficiency advance in document processing. Alongside faster and simpler dispatch is the major advantage of easier integration in specialist applications. Without any break in the media flow it now becomes possible in the future to process confidential and binding electronic communication. A decisive feature of the E-Postbrief is its hybrid character: For non-registered users the Post prints the electronic letter, puts it in an envelope and provides it to the customer via the postman. Wolfgang Eckert, Head of Product Management E-Postbrief at the Deutsche Post will present the E-Postbrief in the Internet and future opportunities for document management.
