JDF

The Job Definition Format (JDF) is an open file format published by the CIP4 consortium. Currently, the standard is at revision 1.4a. JDF is based on XML and allows the direct exchange of data between information systems and machines across all areas of the production process. JDF mainly consists of the specification of a job ticket that contains the order data, a format for exchanging messages (Job Messaging Format, JMF) and a protocol for exchanging messages.
