XML, XSL, XSL-FO: Basics of Document Generation with XML and XSL

The main goal of this workshop is to show how document formatting is done with XSL-FO and how document creation is done with XML and XSL. It includes a short introduction to XPath and XSLT and the transformation of XML data with XSLT-based rules.

 

The following subjects will be discussed:

 

  • Short introduction to XPath and XSLT as a tool
  • Transformation from XML data with XSLT-based rules
  • Overview on input/output filters
  • Combining data and stylesheets to create XHTML or print datastream
